Today, it is one of the largest referral centers for the treatment of diseases pertaining to Retina, Ocular trauma, Cataract & Glaucoma, Uvea, Orbit and Oculoplasty and complicated surgical interventions. GEI serves over a lakh patients annually. With its five fully equipped operation theaters, it performs more than 4000 surgeries every year.
GEI's active involvement in community centric services, benefiting the eye health of the public at large, has its origins in the philosophical underpinnings of the Institution. It performs more than 400 free surgeries and treats over 8000 patients through free camps every year.
