This is a combined leadership and clinical role for an experienced radiologist with skills in MRI in a regional general hospital which is implementing a new MRI service. Affiliated with two medical schools, the hospital functions as a provider of secondary care and teaching for residents and medical students. With 350 bed the hospital offers most medical and surgical specialities with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery. It provides some tertiary care services. It serves a local population of 170,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000. There is an active postgraduate medical society and there are excellent clinical library facilities. Key Duties: ongoing clinical oversite for the MRI service working alongside the Charge MRI Medical Imaging Technologist.  You would be expected to support the development of the policies and procedures that are required to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of the service.  This is a Monday to Friday role.      Benefits Salary NZ $ 200,000 - 300,000 Relocation expenses Active CME programm Applications If you are interested in this role please apply with a detailed CV. Commencing January 2022, registrar roles in a 350 bed regional general hospital with a wide range of opportunities for basic and advanced FRACP trainees in the following specialisms: General Medicine Cardiology Respiratory Nephrology Neurology Geriatric Medicine – basic and approved for 12 months advanced training Gastroenterology (approved for advanced training) Haematology Medical Oncology   There are also opportunities to do both an ICU and an Emergency Medicine rotation and there are FRACP trainee roles and service roles.     Responsibilities  Attendance at handover meetings, ward rounds, outpatient clinics, ward meetings, case discussions. Attend and assist at consultant’s outpatient clinics Assess where appropriate, acute and arranged medical admissions/referrals under the care of the team to which the Registrar is attached. Two Registrars daily participate in the Medical A and B call rosters, taking responsibility for attending “cardiac arrest” call when rostered to that duty. Mental Health Professional – Regional Youth Forensic ServiceThe Youth Forensic Service provides a specialist mental health screening role in the courts and prisons, as well as offering a triage service and advice to other agencies. As well as the youth courts, in the central region there is also a youth unit within the Hawkes Bay Prison, young women aged 17 and under in Arohata Prison, and the Lower North Youth Justice Facility (for remand and sentenced youth through the Youth Court) in Palmerston North. In these facilities, the Youth Forensic Service offers screening assessments, advice and mental health treatment. This is provided by psychiatric, psychological, nursing, social work and co-existing disorder staff.Health Professionals for the Regional Youth Forensic service will provide effective, quality services to clients and actively participate in the multidisciplinary team as well as liaising with other appropriate agencies including, but not limited to, Oranga Tamariki, Ministry of Education and Police. Health Professionals provides safe and clinically effective client assessment and intervention, within a specific clinical area with a development of more in depth knowledge and skills. Duties- Take legal and professional responsibility for managing own caseload of patients/clients- Utilize information available to prioritize patients/clients to enable appropriate allocation of referrals and workload- Carry out comprehensive assessment with patients (and whānau where appropriate). This may include use of standardized assessments to assist in assessment and intervention planning.- Complete documentation consistent with legal and organizational requirements.
