Cardiac Electrophysiologists, also known as Cardiac EP or Electrohysiologists, are highly specialized physicians who focus on the study, diagnosis, and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart. As Cardiologists with expertise in the mechanism, function, and performance of the heart's electrical activities, they play a crucial role in managing and improving cardiac health. These professionals are trained to perform both interventional and surgical procedures to effectively treat cardiac arrhythmias. General Responsibilities: 1. Perform tests to assess arrhythmias and accurately identify symptoms 2. Evaluate abnormal electrocardiograms to determine the underlying causes 3. Assess the risk of developing arrhythmias and provide appropriate preventive measures 4. Develop comprehensive treatment plans and establish achievable goals 5. Offer therapeutic methods, including antiarrhythmic drug therapy, to manage and control arrhythmias 6. Recommend lifestyle modifications to support heart health and reduce the risk of future rhythm disorders 7. Perform surgical procedures, such as the surgical implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, to effectively treat arrhythmias
